We help our members grow better orchids.

Five Cities Orchid Society is located on the Central California Coast, mid-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. We enjoy a temperate Mediterranean climate allowing us to grow many types of orchids outdoors. We serve not only our local orchid community of FCOS members but through our monthly Zoom meetings and monthly newsletter we now reach a global audience.

We combine monthly Zoom presentations with regular Zoom business meetings, twice per year social gatherings, on-line and in person orchid auctions, field trips and garden center talks to provide a wide range of opportunities for our members to interact and share the joy of growing and blooming orchids. We are very proud of our 33 year history of sponsoring an annual “Orchid Fest” orchid show and sale. Please visit our Events page to view upcoming events and plan on joining us, either in-person or through Zoom.

The emphasis is on growing Phalaenopsis (moth) orchids and getting them to re-bloom (Part 1)and follows with a discussion of the wide range of orchids which can be grown outdoors in frost free locations on the Central California Coast (Parts 2 & 3).
